UNF Digital Humanities Institute

The UNF Digital Humanities Institute "promotes collaboration on interdisciplinary projects that combine the use of technology with materials and methodologies from the Humanities, Fine Arts and Social Sciences." To learn more, and to join the DHI listserv, contact Dr. Anne Pfister, director. Jacksonville Historical Society

The Jacksonville Historical Society seeks to "[e]ducate and inspire the greater Jacksonville community to value its history, by fostering understanding of how the region’s past shapes our present." A student membership is $25 annually.

St. Augustine Historical Society

St. Augustine Historical Society. A student membership is $20 annually. You can sign up on the homepage of their site to receive their newsletter.

In the State of Florida

Florida Digital Humanities Consortium (FLDH)

The Florida Digital Humanities Consortium is "a collective of institutions in the State of Florida that seeks to promote an understanding of the humanities in light of digital technologies and research." You can become a member at no cost by registering on their website. FLDH holds an annual statewide conference in the spring, at which students can present their work. UNF hosted the inaugural FLDH conference in Spring 2019.

Society of Florida Archivists

The Society of Florida Archivists "is an organization of individuals and institutions with a shared concern for the identification, preservation, and use of manuscripts and records of historical value." A regular individual membership is $20 annually (there is no student membership category). Members are added to the group's listserv and receive The Florida Archivist, a quarterly publication. The Society holds an annual conference, and students planning on participating can apply for the Judith Beale Scholarship to cover costs. Susan Swiatosz, Head of Special Collections and University Archives at UNF, is membership chair, and can provide more information.


TEI Consortium

As you know by now, the TEI Consortium "collectively develops and maintains a standard for the representation of texts in digital form." As a student, you can join the TEI by making a donation in any amount (including $1; see the instructions under "Individual member"). You can join the TEI listserv by completing this web form

Association for Documentary Editing

The Association for Documentary Editing "was created in 1978 to promote documentary editing through the cooperation and exchange of ideas among the community of editors." A student membership is $20 annually. To join the Association's listserv, see the instructions on this page, under "SEDIT-L."

Society for Textual Scholarship

The Society for Textual Scholarship is "an international organization of scholars working in textual studies, editing and editorial theory, electronic textualities, and issues of textual culture across a wide variety of disciplines." Membership for students is $37 annually.
